BBQ lunch in a Firehall prepared by two of Vancouver’s top chefs – what an amazing way for Streetfront Alternative School students to celebrate the ending of a successful school year and kick-off attendance at Hooksum Wilderness Camp!

Huge thanks to everyone who made this amazing and uplifting event possible: the Firefighters at #9 Firehall who hosted the lunch in the middle of their Firehall (surrounded by gear and equipment); Trail Appliances for the generous donation of two barbecues (value $1200 each) which they permanently donated to Streetfront and Admiral Seymour Schools: Joe Fortes Restaurant and Executive Chef Wayne Sychs for donating much of the food and to Chefs Wayne Sychs and Michael Varga for adding their special talents to cooking up mouth-watering ribs and chicken to accompany the potato salad, fruit and vegetable platters…. It was a feast! Our most successful and fun event to date got the “thumbs-up” all round.
